About Us

We are Tamara Frishling and Nechama Dworkind, the co-founders of StepUp Communication. With over 50 years of combined experience as communication coaches and speech therapists, we have dedicated our careers to helping teams and individuals unlock their full communication potential.

Hi, I'm Tamara!

I fully believe that communication is the key to success. My passion is to coach people to be better, more confident communicators in the corporate environment and in everyday life. Communication is the magic ingredient that forges strong relationships and keeps teams running like a well-oiled machine.

My background in communication sciences, human resource management, and organizational behavior provides a high-impact approach to unlock communication potential for clients to learn the necessary skills to successfully and confidently communicate with their superiors, colleagues, and teams.

My experiences in both the corporate and health sectors have ranged from non-collaborative and competitive environments with poorly led teams to highly functional and collaborative ones. This contrast has deeply influenced my career path. I am committed to using the lessons learned from positive team dynamics to help others create similar environments in their workplaces. My goal is to transform organizational cultures and improve workplace interactions through effective communication.

For a truly distinctive learning experience, we offer the option of incorporating my two therapy dogs into our training sessions. Their presence fosters a relaxed and supportive ambiance, amplifying the effectiveness of our sessions and enriching the overall learning experience.

When I’m out of the office, you’ll likely find me recharging in nature on peaceful walks with my dogs Kida and Ace, hitting the gym for a good workout, or unwinding with my very own “Team Family”!

A Little About My Journey

My passion for empowering confident communicators began over two decades ago. Early in my career, I worked in the educational and healthcare sectors within large organizations, where I encountered common communication challenges such as rigid hierarchies, ineffective meetings, and a lack of constructive feedback. These experiences inspired me to drive meaningful change in workplace dynamics. Today, I’m on a mission to transform your company’s communication landscape—building a foundation of excellence, productivity, and innovation.

Outside of work, I enjoy diving into crime novels, crocheting coasters with my cat Zaza by my side, and experimenting with healthy recipes for my family.
